Hartmut Betke
Managing Partner
As Managing Partner, Hartmut Betke brings over 25 years of experience in investment banking and private equity to the table. For more than 17 years, he has been actively involved in M&A transactions in Renewables and Cleantech, which is his passion. He has closed more than 40 transactions.
Since co-founding D.CT in 2012, Hartmut has been instrumental in originating and leading transactions in the renewables and cleantech sectors. He has a wealth of experience in numerous renewables transactions spanning technologies including biogas/biomethane, biomass, wind (onshore/offshore), and PV. Additionally, he has led several pure technology related transactions, such as selling two wind turbine technologies. Hartmut’s clientele is comprised of entrepreneurs and founders, private equity firms, and prominent corporates.
Prior to founding D.CT, Hartmut served as the head of the German Renewables team at Augusta & Co., where he sourced and led transactions in the Cleantech and Renewables space. He began his career in the investment banking and private equity teams of Deutsche Bank and has significant restructuring experience from his time at Frankfurter Beteiligungsholding.
Hartmut holds a degree as Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur, combining industrial engineering and business administration, from the KIT/Technical University of Karlsruhe in Germany.
